On Saturday, October 29, the two Rochester Regional Health Eastern Region Hospital Foundations hosted the Eastern Region Tastings Showcase to benefit initiatives at both Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic (CSHC) and Newark-Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH).
This unique event, held in a heated tent on the grounds of the historic Granger Homestead, featured culinary delights and eclectic beverage samples from more than 19 local vendors. More than 300 community leaders and hospital employees tasted, mingled and danced to the sounds of local band The Groove Kings.
According to CSHC Foundation President Bill Young, “The food was wonderful and I think everyone had a really good time. Everywhere we looked, we saw people talking, laughing and really enjoying themselves. My wife, Barbara, and I had never been inside the Granger Homestead and we were pleased to be able to take a complimentary tour.”
For only $25, guests had the chance to win one of three amazing prizes, including a gift basket with more than $500-worth of local restaurant coupons, Lexus Club Admission tickets to an upcoming Buffalo Sabres game and a cooler stocked with wines from local wineries.
The event raised more than $40,000 which will be split equally between the two hospital foundations. CSHC will focus efforts on updates to the Emergency Department and NWCH will channel the funds toward inpatient rooms that will ultimately provide a more efficient and patient-friendly experience.
“We were very pleased with the turn-out,” commented Susie Earl, chairwoman for the NWCH Foundation. “We are in the process of several transformational projects at Newark-Wayne and proceeds from this event will definitely help these efforts.”
