Rochester, N.Y. – Rochester Regional Health is improving access to key outpatient services in a new location just down the road from Rochester General Hospital. This one-stop destination for non-surgical care will offer personalized service in a setting that’s soothing, modern and designed to reduce wait times while allowing providers to spend more time with patients.
“Comfort, convenience and excellent care in a single location – that’s what the Riedman Health Center is designed to provide,” remarked Rochester Regional Health President and CEO Eric Bieber, MD. “People have limited time and ability to travel around for these basic and essential services. Health care has to become more convenient. To us, part of caring for you is making things easy to get to and comfortable when you get here.”
Located in a newly revitalized and expanded Irondequoit retail space, the Riedman Health Center will open to the public on July 30. An RTS bus stop and free parking will make the 74,000-square-foot center more accessible than ever and provide residents with a number of outpatient services including:
- Primary care and internal medicine for children and adults
- Imaging (including mammography, ultrasound and 3D ultrasound)
- Blood drawing and lab
“This model is intended to make people’s lives easier,” explained Senior Vice President of the Rochester Regional Health Primary Care Institute Bridgette Wiefling, MD. “Every time a patient can leave a doctor’s appointment and walk right over to the lab, imaging center or pharmacy, we’ve helped them get the care they need in a way that’s fast and simple. This is how it’s supposed to be.”
Former Rochester Regional Health board member John Riedman and his family are among those whose generosity and leadership helped create the health system as it is today. They have continued to be system leaders by making a $5 million gift commitment through the Riedman Foundation for the building that will bear their name. “Our family believes in Rochester Regional Health’s vision for community healthcare,” said David Riedman, a current member of the Rochester Regional Health Board of Directors, on behalf of his family. “We couldn’t be more proud to invest in a place that provides a broad range of care to an equally broad range of people, all of whom deserve easy access to basic medical services and programs.”
The Riedman Health Center is at 1455 East Ridge Road, the corner of East Ridge Road and North Goodman Street.
